Norton Rose Fulbright’s Becky Diffen co-authors renewable energy book Wind and Solar Law

Vereinigte Staaten Press release - People December 15, 2021

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright's Becky Diffen recently co-authored Wind and Solar Law, a project finance book published by LexisNexis. Teaming with Rod Wetsel, Diffen has created Wind and Solar Law as a resource covering the legal aspects of wind and solar project development.

Diffen, an Austin-based partner who was recently named a Law360 "MVP" in project finance, said:

"Wind and Solar Law examines both the legal and practical issues confronting developers, landowners and policymakers. The insights into the past growth and future expansion of wind and solar energy, both onshore and offshore, make it a valuable guide for renewables newcomers as well as seasoned professionals."

The book includes an overview of the wind and solar industries, practical practice perspectives, policy discussions, recent industry developments, trends shaping the future, real property analysis and sample agreements.

Wind and Solar Law is the follow-up to Wind Law by Diffen and Wetsel. Diffen uses these books in the teaching of her renewable energy course at the University of Texas School of Law, as does Wetsel in his instruction at Texas Tech School of Law.

"Wind and Solar Law is far more than a textbook, as it provides a comprehensive overview of renewable energy to law students and industry participants alike, tapping the insights that both Rod and I have as both advisors and educators."

Diffen, who began her career in the renewable energy sector as a utility-scale wind power developer, blended that experience with her private practice knowledge in the development of this book. Junior associate Emily Meier supported Diffen as a research assistant for Wind and Solar Law.

Since 2015, Norton Rose Fulbright has been ranked annually as the leading US renewable energy legal advisor by volume having advised on a total of 213 renewable energy projects valued at more than US$37.4 billion. (Inframation, Q1 2015 – Q3 2021, Renewables)
